Doing the crime
See below the rules to follow for committing various crimes around the city. As a general rule of thumb reach out to players to get their OOC consent, especially if you want to do crime on a player or a player’s property. Any actions that affect player owned spaces or assets such as businesses or rentals require permission from the appropriate owner/lead before proceeding. Current business owners can be found on the Community Page. If no owner is listed you can reach out to staff for permission.

WEAPONS
We follow Utah rules and regulations for gun ownership. Handguns, Semi-automatic rifles, shotguns, and any weapons that could reasonably be owned by a citizen in the great State of Utah are permissible.
Military grade weapons are prohibited without prior admin approval.
Admin approval would be granted in rare occasions that the story may lead to its acquisition.
FIRE
1. If you are planning to set a fire to a business/rental property please contact the owner of the place first to get OOC permission.
2. If there is no owner listed please contact staff for permission
3. Contact the CFD Chief via discord, this can be done by tagging them with @CFD Chief. If the fire is approved, they will set you up with the specific fire to use that works with our systems and coordinate a time to ensure FD staff will be present.

Doing The Time
Creswell’s legal system is loosely inspired by the laws and judicial procedures of Utah. However, some processes have been simplified or adjusted to accommodate Second Life, player availability, and the needs of ongoing roleplay. The goal is to create engaging legal consequences without unnecessarily preventing someone from playing their character.
A reported crime may result in an immediate arrest, an investigation, a BOLO, or an arrest warrant depending on the available evidence and circumstances.
After an arrest your character will be searched and transported to the Creswell Police Department. They will then undergo standard booking procedures, including the confiscation of personal belongings, photographs, fingerprints, identification, and placement in a holding cell.
The arresting officer will inform you of the charges against your character, along with the applicable fine(s) and holding time.
Holding times are determined by the severity and number of charges:
- Each misdemeanor charge adds six hours.
- Each felony charge adds 24 hours.
- The maximum amount of time served is 72 hours.
Holding periods are measured in real-world time and will never exceed three real-life days. Multiple charges may be combined when calculating the total.
Yes. With the exception of murder charges, you may choose to pay the fine amount listed on the arrest report and have your character released immediately rather than serving the assigned holding time.
Paying bail does not remove the charges from your character’s criminal record. It simply allows them to be released without waiting out the full holding period. Murder charges are not eligible for bail and require a mandatory three day hold.
If your character denies the charges or wishes to challenge the arrest, let the arresting officer know both IC and OOC. The matter will be referred to the Creswell court system rather than being resolved through the standard payment or time-served process.
Additional information about release and scheduling will be provided once the case has been referred to the courts.
If you have accepted your charges/served your time then no. Attorneys and court hearings are generally reserved for cases in which the charges are being contested.
If your case requires judicial involvement, you will have the opportunity to hire a private attorney or request an available public defender.

How to Create a Gang
Read all 3 sections below before proposing a gang of your own

Have interested players
Every group needs a leader, and every leader needs a team. To create a gang you must have 2 interested and ready to play members in addition to the leader. All individuals must have a character registered in Creswell and have a valid drivers license.

Your gang must be built around a clear goal/reason
Why does your gang exist in the first place? Is your characters goal to control all the weapons/drugs that are distributed through the city? Maybe they just want revenge for something another gang had done to them. Maybe their goal is to become partnered with the CPD to push the cards in their favor when it comes to arrests or intel. The possibilities are only limited to your imagination.

The goal isn’t always to win, it’s about the story.
Sometimes a heist just doesn’t go your way. Someone’s nose got itchy so they lifted their mask to scratch it, and now Brian’s face is plastered all over the city on wanted charges. It happens! Roll with the punches as they come and expect to take some blows. Not everything in life is perfect and we don’t expect it to be in roleplay either.
